Feeling Good

It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. It’s a new life for me. And I’m feeling good.

Those lyrics, from the song “Feeling Good”, perfectly capture where I am right now. I’m starting a new life working at a somewhat well-known technology company in Cupertino as a web developer advocate. And I’m feeling good.

My work on the web has been long and winding, and I never would have imagined where the journey would lead. Hindsight being what it is, it absolutely makes sense now. I love to learn. I love to help people. I love technology. I love development and web development in particular. It brings everything into focus and I know it is where I’m meant to be.

There have been so many that have guided me along the way in one way or another. Over the years they have given me their support, inspiration, encouragement, and most importantly, challenged me to be better. Without a doubt the person who has given the most is my best friend and partner in life, my wife, Amy. Without her, I don’t know that I would ever have gotten this far. My family has always been a central pillar of strength and growth from my parents and grandparents to my kids.

Still there are others personally and professionally that I have to thank for the indelible impressions they have made on me:

Aaron Campbell, Adam Sewell, Andrew Nacin, Angie Meeker, Barry Hughes, Ben Andersen, Brad Williams, Brandon Dove, Chris Runnells, Christina Bruun-Horrigan, Clif Griffin, Cory Miller, Dave Donaldson, Dave Faulkner, Dave Kress, Hiranthi Molhoek , Ian Dunn, Jackson Whelan, Jake Goldman, Jeff Chandler, Jeff Harper, Jen Mylo, John Daniels, Jim Lillibridge, Dave Smith, Chad Beilawski, Jim Zaborowski, John Dillick, Keenan Purk, Lisa Sabin-Wilson, Matt Mullenweg, Matthew Sigley, Mike Major, Pete Bernardo, Pippin Williamson, Steve Brickle, Syed Balkhi, Timothy Hatcher, Todd Bushcur, Warren Bickley, Yvonne van de Kasteele

Undoubtedly there are others. I’m sorry if I missed your name.

The point being, a new adventure begins and I have a feeling, it’s going to be good.

Sleep in peace when day is done,
that’s what I mean.
And this old world is a new world.
And a bold world for me.
